Licensing
How licensing works
All of our plugins are available for free in emulation mode, giving you the opportunity to explore and test every feature before committing to a purchase. When you're ready to unlock the full experience, a one-time licence activation is all it takes.
Not every plugin needs a licence. Our free plugins (Radio Browser, Weather) run on Q-SYS Core hardware at no cost — download and deploy them without buying anything, and they never touch the activation flow. The four-step flow and the licence terms below apply to our licensed plugins, which are free in emulation and need one one-time licence per Core to run on hardware.
Buy a licence
Purchase one licence per Q-SYS Core. You receive an Activation Code by email as soon as your order is processed.
Activate on your Core
Enter your Activation Code and your Q-SYS Core Locking ID on the activation page. You get back a Plugin Activation Key to paste into the plugin.
Runs offline
Once activated, the plugin validates its key locally on the Core. No internet connection and no call home is required for normal operation.
Before you buy
Please note that all licences are:
- Permanent and non-revocable once activated.
- Locked to one Q-SYS Core — activation binds the licence to that Core's Locking ID, and it cannot be moved to another Core.
- Refundable until you activate — an unactivated licence can be refunded within 30 days, no questions asked. After activation we generally do not refund, butthe refund policy sets out when we will.
One licence covers one Q-SYS Core and unlimited instances of that plugin on it. Replacing a Core means the licence needs to be reissued — get in touch and we will do it at no charge.
