Licence agreement
Last updated 14 September 2026.
This agreement covers your use of any Q-SYS plugin published by CoreForge Labs. It applies whether you paid for a licence or are using a plugin free of charge. By installing or using a plugin you accept it.
1. What you may do without paying
You may download any plugin, inspect it, and run it in Q-SYS Designer emulation, indefinitely and at no cost. You may do this for evaluation, development, training or demonstration. You may share the unmodified plugin file with colleagues and clients.
2. What requires a licence
Running a plugin on Q-SYS Core hardware requires a licence for that Core. One licence permits:
- use on one Q-SYS Core, identified by its Locking ID;
- unlimited instances of that plugin on that Core;
- use in production, commercially, for as long as you like.
A licence is granted to the person or organisation that bought it. It may be transferred once along with the system it is deployed in — for example when a project is handed over to a client — by telling us at info.coreforgelabs@gmail.com.
3. What you may not do
- Circumvent, disable or tamper with the licensing mechanism, or use an activation key on a Core it was not issued for.
- Share, resell, sublicense or publish activation codes or activation keys.
- Decompile or reverse-engineer the plugin except where the law expressly permits it.
- Remove or alter authorship, copyright or licensing notices.
- Redistribute a modified plugin, or present it as your own work.
4. Activation and how it works
Activation exchanges your Activation Code and your Core's Locking ID for a Plugin Activation Key. That key is cryptographically bound to that one Core. After activation the plugin validates the key locally and does not contact us again — it does not phone home, and it does not need an internet connection to keep working.
A practical consequence worth stating plainly: because validation is offline, a key that has been revoked — after a refund or chargeback, say — may continue to function on a Core it was already activated on. Continuing to use it in that situation breaches this agreement even though it is technically possible.
5. Ownership
The plugins are licensed, not sold. CoreForge Labs retains all intellectual property in them. You own your configuration, your Q-SYS design, and anything you build with the plugin.
6. Updates
Updates to a plugin are provided free where we publish them, and are covered by your existing licence — you do not re-buy a plugin to get a newer version. We are not obliged to produce updates indefinitely, and an update may require a minimum Q-SYS Designer version.
7. No warranty
The plugins are provided "as is". Beyond what the law requires, we make no warranty that a plugin is error-free, or that it will remain compatible with any third-party device, firmware, service or future Q-SYS release. Evaluate in emulation and test in your own environment before relying on a plugin in a live system.
8. Liability
To the extent the law permits, our liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the licence concerned, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Rights you hold under laws that cannot be excluded by agreement are unaffected.
9. Ending this agreement
This licence lasts until you stop using the plugin, or until you breach section 3, at which point it ends. You may stop using a plugin at any time; a licence fee already paid is dealt with under the refund policy.
10. Governing law
New Zealand law governs this agreement, without removing mandatory protections in your country of residence.
